WHERE HAS THE SUMMER GONE? You know within the next couple of weeks old man Frost wifi be moving into our valley. Right now he is lurking up there near the Peak. I know, because I caught a glimpse of him in the early morning mist rising up off the mountains. And he has already sent out his advance scouts to color up the Virginia Creepers and splash a dab of blood red paint on the lower leaves of the Sumac bushes.
Except for a few patches here and there, the hay is stowed away and the silos are filled. Looks to me like next Wednesday morning, October 4th, would be just a cracking good time to get together with some of your ole’ beef cattle cronies from our neighboring counties at the Front Royal Beef Cattle Research Station’s Centennial Field Day.
you will want to be there by 9:30 a.m. to get in with one of the tour groups. And while you are walking around talking over cattle prices, the specialists will bring you up to date on the latest research on pink eye and calf scours control-.
Here is the entire program and I hope to see you there.
