CASANOVA Hunt will open the Virginia point-topoint season on Saturday, February 23, with its 17th annual meeting, and if Sunday’s schooling session at Thomas and Edward Evans’s Spring Hill Farm was an indication of what is to come, it should be a great day of racing with beautiful weather, plenty of horses and a big crowd.
In fact, it looked like the races themselves on Sunday, as more than 30 horses, going in pairs or groups of four or more, ran over the timber or hurdle courses, all newly refurbished with fresh green cedar.
POST TIME is noon for the first race, The Longwood, and 19 pairs have entered this popular hunter pace event.
