Again, at the committee stage, the legislature needs competent assistants who can draft amendments to bills and quickly give background informaton that is often needed in considering legislation.
Among the many proposals to avoid the log jam and hectic pace at the end of the session is one to increase the session to 90 days every year. I am opposed to this suggestion.
A constitutional amendment has been proposed to have a legislative session of 90 days every two years instead of the 60-day session one year and die 30day session the next. I favor this amendment as I did in the 1969 session on revision of the Constitution.
