Also, I do not think it is necessary for the legislature to meet every year if a longer session were held every other year and special sessions can always be called for emergencies.

To go any further than this would be a long step towards a full-time legislature which I am opposed to. I believe that we should maintain a parttime legislature composed of people who earn their living and spend more of their time in their own communities than in Richmond. This gives the legislators a better perspective of issues and keeps them in closer touch with the people they represent.

THERE have been many proposals for increasing the salaries of legislators. I do not think this is necessary and any additional money should be spent on
