Fairfax, Loudoun, even Warrenton, are feeling the squeeze. They’re having to move away from the old kennels, get out in the country where it’s more open. Rare that you can hack over to meets anywhere now, specially for hunts in crowded country like that. Just too many places where it’d be too much trouble to get through.

“Still a lot of open country over this way. Country where clubs could move into, if they could get the backing and the following. Say, if Warrenton Hunt wanted to move south, coming this way, I’m sure the Rappahannock Hunt’s territory is large enough for them to come in through here, my section, and go towards Culpeper and Orange.

“We’ve got enough territory to share. At least that’s the way it looks now. But people don’t understand foxhunting like they used to. Don’t love it like they cmce did.”
