Book Review Party set
A PARTY FOR Elementary School students who participated in the Current Book Review Contest will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 22 at the Rappahannock County Library, Washington, Va. The party is for all 5th, 6th, and 7th grade contestants, their parents, their teachers and the judges who will announce the winners and award cash prizes and certificates of merit.
“One hundred twenty-three contestants completed two book reviews each,” said Mrs. Weiland Flynt, Chairman of the judging panel. “The reviews show a lot of interest and good comprehension on the part of the children, and, on the whole, a strong involvement in the books read.” Mrs. Flynt added: “It has been difficult for the panel to award prizes as so many reviews are deserving.”
It is suggested that you bring your children who are Book Review Contestants to the Library Party, if you want to attend other meetings that are taking place Friday night. The Rappahannock Library is preparing to welcome the biggest turnout it has ever hosted. Refreshments will be served for all, 7:30, Friday evening, March 22.—Mary Jamieson
