“For awhile I did make the larger pieces to sell. But there’s not really that much market for them.”
“At one time, we had three grandmother’s clock’s in this house,” Ginger added. “They were beautiful, with the moving moon dial and triple chimes. They didn’t sell for a good while, but now they’re all gone, even the one I would like to have kept.”
However, Pat will do “custom work” for large pieces of furniture. “Sometimes people bring me a picture of something they’d like for me to copy. Or they describe to me what they want, often to fit a special place, and I work with them, designing it, until we get what they want,” he said.
“ONE TIME a lady wanted a bedside table that was high enough for a certain bed and had enough surface area on top to hold a whole list of things, beginning with her clock radio,” Ginger said. “So Pat made it, and it was just what she wanted.
