SHEEP FARMING in Virginia’s Northern Piedmont area and across the mountain in the Valley is dwindling. Sheep farmers and Extension Agents agree sheep are about the most consistently profitable livestock to raise, but in Rappahannock, Clarke, Fauquier and Loudoun, there are considerably fewer sheep farmers and fewer sheep than ten years ago.
