Tack shop opens
An enterprising young Flint Hill woman has opened a new, interesting and applicable business in her village. The Rappahannock Tack Shop held its grand opening over the weekend in Flint Hill with Jean Lillard as owner and Phyllis Irwin, manager.
The shop is located in the building which formerly housed the Village Shop owned by Mrs. Mary Cleverley. It is now the property of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lane, from whom Jean rents.
The store is stocked with everything from a saddle down to a silver bracelet with a horse motif, including riding apparal. Jean says she has such good contacts that she is able to get three-day delivery on merchandise when necessary.
On opening day, Saturday, :offee, punch, cheeses and other refreshments were served with Vfrs. Evelyn Walker in attendance. Hours for the shop are Wednesday hrough Saturday, 11 a.m. until 7 >.m. However this week the store will be open on Monday and Tuesday, March 31 and April !.□
