A field trip to the Smithsonian Institute for the eighth grade was approved for April 18 with two buses taking the approximate 105 students. A field trip for the Industrial Training class to the Metro construction site was also approved.

Results from achievement and ability tests disclosed the Rappahannock students are average and rate high according to small town norms.

A parents advisory committee for the Title I program, composed of Mrs. T.B. Massie and Mrs. James R. Shaw, both of Washington; Mrs. Mae Russell Kinsey and Mrs. Brown Settle, both of Castleton; Mrs. Huey Atkins and Mrs. John Lloyd Jenkins, both of Sperryville; and Mrs. James Lilly of Chester Gap, was approved.
