replies to public service questions is the large proportion of non-resident owners who have “no opinion’’ was lower among residents (never more than 14 percent). Residents were most satisfied with schools and fire protection, least satisfied with recreation facilities and trash pickup.
Naturally, non-residents would be less concerned with schools than residents, since they don’t receive the service. Their concern, if any, would be largely for the possible effect that school financing would have on the property tax. The survey did support the hypothesis that residents and non-residents do not see their community services in the same way or with the same level of concern.
