THREE Rappahannock students were recipients of Commencement Weekend honors at RandolphMacon Academy as the Front Royal college-preparatory school celebrated its 83rd graduation of seniors recently.
Charles Browning Swaim and Howard Robert Swaim, sons of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Swaim of Flint Hill, and Mary Brooke Massie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wade H. Massie 111 of Washington, received academic honors during annual Class Night ceremonies.
Charles Swaim was the winner of the Latin II Junior Classical League Award for Ecellence. He was also among 19 Academy students cited for top grade-point averages on the President’s Academic List with a yearly grade ratio of 3.60.
Howard Swaim, a ninth-grade student during the 1974-75 session, was awarded the Spanish Award of the American Association fo Spanish Instructors.
Mary Brooke Massie, a rising senior at R-MA, received the Kemper Memorial History Medal, annually offered by the Academy’s Class of 1954 to the school’s most outstanding student in the study of history.□
