The Rappahannock Unit of the American Cancer Society wishes to thank the many people, who were so wonderful with their help and made the Skin Cancer Clinic a tremendous success.
Dr. Lewis E. Harmon and his two assistants, Dr. Larry Legum and Dr. Allen Cayne, came as volunteers for the clinic.
The Rev. Jennings Hobson, IH, and the members of Trinity Episcopal Church gave the use of their parish hall with its facilities. Both the Rappahannock Grade School and High School and the Wakefield Day School helped with publicity. Hie Home Demonstration Agent was helpful with a special mailing of information about the Clinic. Mrs. Sarah Latham, whose fantastic coverage with both articles and pictures in the Rappahannock News, was one of the outstanding factors in the success of the clinic.

In last week’s obituary column on Pulitzer prize winning jour* nalist Ed Harris, we discovered that RLEP had somehow given up and that powerlines would now be built across the county. Please inform your writer and readers that the effort to preserve our area from unnecessary powerlines is now headed for the Federal courts and that further legal action locally remain an option.
Ed Harris was a RLEP charter member, officer, director, chairman of Vepco project fund raising and largely responsible for timely expansion of this case beyond the rubber stamps of Virginia’s State Corporation Commission and Supreme Court of Appeals. His strong dedication, respect for rights of others and enlightened self interest provided us much motivation over the years. Don’t count us out.
