FIRE, RESCUE
Sherman Williams was taken from his home at Chester Gap to Warren Memorial Hospital Friday morning by the Chester Gap Rescue unit. That evening Raymond Mahoney was taken from his home at Huntly to the same hospital in Front Royal.
Amissville Fire Department responded to call July 11 to the Spicer’s residence on Route 624.
The Amissville Rescue Squad responded to a sick call July 5 at the Bill Lawson residence on Route 611. On the 9th this unit was called to the home of Lewis Butler on Route 626 for a sick call. Three calls July 10 were to Archie Clatterbuck’s residence on 626; to the Castleton King’s Baseball Park where a spectator was struck by a ball and to the home of Miss Phoebe Green who had fallen and broken her shoulder.
Washington Rescue Squad carried William Estes from Baldwin’s Grocery to the Rappahannock Clinic July 6. July 10 the unit answered a call to a wreck at Panorama but serviced were not needed. July 11 the Fire Department received a false alarm.
