Justice from the University of Illinois, in which planning experts would tell Rappahannock “what ^ the lay-out of the courthouse should be in the year 2000.” Luke said the service would send people to Washington to evaluate additional space needs for the expected district court load and make a floor plan to accomodate those needs.

LUKE alledged that if Rappahannock had used this service two years ago, when the judges knew of the redistricting plans that have caused much of the courthouse overcrowding, the county wouldn’t have such a space problem today. He emphasised that this service already used by Madison County was only a plan that included no architectural service and once done, the County could take it or leave it—they were under no obligation to accept it. Luke said he would ask John Jones from Planning District Nine “to come and take a look.”D

Baptism rite held

Catharine Thornton Slater, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George N. Slater of Richmond received the rites of Holy Baptism on Sunday, July 11, 1976 at noon at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Richmond with the Rev. Walton Pettit officiating.

Godmothers are Mrs. Catherine Meade Littleton of Middleburg and Miss Ann Gochnauerof Upperville. Philip Lee Thornton 111 of Richmond is the Godfather.

Brunch followed at the Slater home. Mrs. J. W. Fletcher of Washington, grandmother of the child, and Mrs. Frances Thornton of Sperryville attended the ceremony.

Man dies

Michael Bazzell, 19, of Baltimore, Md. died early Sunday morning of apparently natural causes at the “Spyders” commune located near Sperryville. Bazzell, who arrived there a few days previously, had complained of a nosebleed and stomach condition earlier, according to Sheriff W. A. Buntin.

His body was removed to Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper and a medical examination was scheduled to be made.
