‘‘We advise the public to change their voting registration when they move at the same time they change their telephone and other utilities and the address on their driver’s license and credit cards,” Mrs. Mahan continued. ‘‘It is extremely important that people realize that they cannot go back to the place they used to live to vote unless they have moved within the thirty days immediately prior to the election in which they offer to vote. Voters are very unhappy when they go to the polls and the election official informs them that they cannot vote because they no longer have residency in that precinct,” Mrs. Mahan said.
‘‘If we can just reach people to change their voting registration at the time they move, everyone otherwise qualified to vote will be able to participate in all elections.”□
