THEN suddenly out of nowhere, and with a terrible roar, comes the Flying Circus’s only concession to the modern air age. It is R. C. “Bob” Murphy (Lieutenant Colonel, U. S. Army) in his Japanese Zero for a highperformance aerobatic display. Murphy’s airplane is actually a modified 600-horsepower T-6 military trainer that was made to look exactly like the infamous Japanese “Zero” of World War n. Murphy acquired his airplane after it had been used for the filming of the movie, “Tora, Tora, Tora.”
