WASHINGTON Fire Company and Rescue Squad will initiate a four-night carnival on Wednesday through Saturday, September 1, 2, 3 and 4. Included in the opening night activities will be the awarding of a door prize or attendance prize and the opportunity to use a special ticket for rides.

Tickets costing $3 may be, and must be, purchased in advance for the rides Wednesday night. The one ticket will entitle the holder to as many rides as they wish on that erne night. Tickets are not transferable. They are available in advance from Washington Cash Store, Baldwin’s Grocery, Sutphins’ Grocery and the Rappahannock Clinic.

Thursday’s high light will be the crowning of a “Little Miss Washington” and an honorary fire chief.

The gala parade, scheduled for Friday night, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Box suppers of ham and chicken will be on sale this night. Invitations have been issued to many groups and individuals for participation in the parade; however, if persons have not been contacted and wish to participate, they are advised to contact J.W. Hobson at 675-3716 or R.D. Hawkins at 675-3355. Bicycle, comic floats, civic entries, commercial or others are urged to contact the parade co-chairmen Hobson or Hawkins.
