Now
Now is the time to take those soil samples for the upcoming crop year. Let’s avoid the hassle and delay that can occur due to the lateness of taking soil samples. Soil Sample boxes and information may be obtained either at the Rappahannock County ASCS Office or the Extension Service Office. The results of a soil sample will be no better than the sample sent to the laboratory, so take your time and get a representative sample from the fields.
Sheep producers are encouraged to report all sales of wool and lambs to the Rappahannock County ASCS Office as soon as sales are final for 1977. If the national average price received falls below 72 cents per pound for shorn wool, there will be an incentive payment to all sheep producers who have reported sales for 1977.
