According to the Virginia Department of Welfare’s Child Protective Services Annual Report, there were a total of 54 cases of suspected child abuse in Rappahannock County between July 1978 and June 1979.
After investigation. 21 cases here proved to be "founded." 16 cases “unfounded" and 17 were classified as “at risk.”
