Icy roads at Panorama caused a two-vehicle collision on December 20. Mary Alice Young of Tempe, Ariz. operating a 78 Ford struck a 68 Ford driven by Valerie Lynn Gehringer of Flint Hill, according to Trooper R. A. Baines. No injuries resulted and no charges were made, said the officer, who estimated damage to the Young car at $300 and at $400 to Gehringer’s.

Three vehicles were involved in a collision on Route 522 in the Boston area near Route 604. Donnie Jenkins of Woodville operating a 68 Chevrolet was going south on 522 when he lost control of his car, struck a guard rail on the north of the road and bounced into a 76 Chevrolet pickup operated by Larry D. Sheppard of Sperryville. according to Trooper Baines.

Jenkins careened into the southbound lane. The Sheppard vehicle was hit in the rear by a northbound 78 Ford operated by Rickey L. Schoenthaler of Castleton, said the officer. Sheppard and his wife. Beatrice, a passenger in the truck, sustained injuries and were hospitalized in Culpeper.

Damage was set at $1500 to Sheppard's truck; and Jenkins car was totaled. The investigation continues and charges are pending, said Baines.

John D. Borgens of Amissville sustained a slight head injury in a single-car crash December 20, also. He was driving a 77 Mustang op Route 231 near Route 621 when it went out of control and over an embankment. No charges were made, according to Baines and damage was estimated at $1200.
