Bill has been fooling around with horses all his life but until the family's move to Rappahannock eight years ago. he was a dairyman first and foremost. Weaver had two large dairy operations, initially in Catlett and later in Nokesville. “We shipped dairy cows from Wisconsin and sold them in Catlett, sold them to nearly every dairy farmer in Virginia at one time or another,” he recalled. After brucellosis swept through the south, decimating dairy herds, buyers came regularly from as far away as North Carolina for Weaver’s weekly sales.
