manager acknowledged that “approximately 18 months ago we were experiencing toll service problems caused, in most part, by cut cables. During 1981 we haven’t had a single case where all the toll service was out. We have had two instances with partial outages caused by equipment failures.”
As for delays in providing service. Harper noted that CenTel had a total of 13 held orders in February. 1980. In October. 1981, the company had four held orders “and this has fluctuated up and down.” Harper stated. “However, we do provide facilities as needed. We do not provide facilities in rural areas until needed unless there is a concrete evidence of a need. Our rate payers would not want this because it would inflate our rate base and cause rates to go up. When we do place facilities we try to provide service to the customer at hand.” he said.

Sets Bazaar
The annual Christmas bazaar of the Episcopal Churchwomen of Grace Church will be held in the Parish House in Casanova Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 o.m.
Baked goods, crafts, Christmas ornaments and white elephants will be offered for sale.
Lunch featuring homemade soup and sandwiches will be served. The public is invited.
