Two years ago the RRCSB honored Mrs. Thornton and Louise Aylor for their years of dedication and service on the board by naming the Aylor-Thornton Building after them.
She was a member of the board's executive search committee in 1990 that interviewed more than 270 applicants before hiring Eldon Taylor. Mr. Taylor is the fifth executive director to serve under Mrs. Thornton.
