The board agreed to try cost savings without reducing staff and to have Dr. Young approach the Board of Supervisors about an additional appropriation.
The board also learned that more patrons are using the library and more volunteer hours are being donated. They decided that new books would no longer be checked out for three weeks. New books will be checked out for one week and cannot be renewed unless there is no reserve on them. Wednesday hours will be 10 a. m. until 8 p.m.
The board also agreed to charge postage for interlibrary loans. They also decided to cut back on heat and lighting.
