In the final inning Roland Harris got a single; Scratch Clanagan came in to pinch run for Roland reaching third on a passed ball. Then Festus Clanagan got a single scoring Scratch and tying the game. Timmy Clanagan came in to pinch hit for Brain Hackley and came up with a double scoring Festus and giving Rappahannock the win.
Highlights for the Monarchs were William Parker with two doubles and a single and Festus Clanagan with a double and a single. Stoney Frye went the distance on the mound.
The Monarchs ended their regular season in third place in Apple Valley League play. The play-offs will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Strasburg at Sahdy Hook Park.
The Monarch’s will also play Sunday but won’t know where before the outcome of Saturday’s game.
