Softball Camp
Twelve players came out for the softball camp organized by Donn Hackney and Rhonda Jenkins last week and this.
They worked on a variety of skills including bunting, picking off a runner caught between the bases, general fielding, hitting, base running and sliding as well as pitching and catching.
The coaches were somewhat disappointed in not having more girls for camp, but they decided to go ahead with the camp anyway.
“I hoped to have more varsity players,” Coach Hackney said. “But the low number means we are working more intensely and can spend more time with the individual players.”
Cecelia Dennis, who will coach the JV softball team this spring, and Emmai £watman, a 1995 RCHS graduate, helped out with camp.
