and then there was World War II, four years in the Army including two years in Europe. That was when Virginia played on Broadway in “Three’s a Family” and then as actress and an M.C. on Cliff Arquette’s “Glamor Manor” show.
When the war ended the Scotts played together in two seasons of Summer Stock at Martha’s Vineyard and the Cape. That was a working vacation. Virginia got pregnant and gave up a good part in a Broadway play to have our son, Peter. The play closed in two weeks but our son has had a much longer run.
