A fitness trail will be built, thanks to Jeremy Graves’ Boy Scout Eagle Project. Graves is a Life Scout with Troop 200 of Flint Hill. To receive his rank of Eagle, Graves must carry out a project requiring a minimum of 80 hours of work. Upon receipt of his Life rank, Graves was approached by members of the Flint Hill community about the possibility of building this trail. Graves agreed to the project. Graves’ project has received approval by the BSA Shenandoah Eagle Board.
The fitness trail will be located on the Flint Hill Fire Company property. The course will be open to anyone who would like to have a safe location to walk and exercise. The fitness trail will be a .5 mile course with five exercise stations and benches for resting. The five stations include stretching bars, horizontal ladder, pull-up bars, sit-up rack and tires. Work will begin Sept. 5. They hope to have the project finished in October, weather permitting.
