As of this date there is no cure, only prevention and precautions. I have learned some oncologists are trying to develop a vaccine but this is only in preliminary stages and only a small portion or ratio of the population has been treated or tested.

Sun screens, hats, long sleeves, pants instead of shorts, are all precautionary measures for susceptible persons. Not over-doing it in the sun, especially when in or around water such as when at the beach is the best prevention. This was my mistake. Young, foolish, hardheaded and uneducated, now I’m paying the price for a few days of fun.

If you’ve not seen anyone die from this form of cancer, well, it isn’t pretty. I sat with my dear cousin on Wednesday before she died on Thursday and the pain she went through was horrible. Morphine was administered frequently but seemed to do little to ease her.

Please parents, you must be the guardian of your children. NOW! They are not aware of the future deadliness of this disease, but you can inform them and teach them now to prevent much pain, fear, heart ache and surgery later.

This is my personal campaign, my war on cancer. Perhaps I should have started sooner. I’ve often regretted not being more persistent in Cora’s case. If I can just make one person listen, then maybe I’ve not completely failed.
