A growing number of young Jews are rediscovering the language. Oxford University and a few universities in the U.S. offer courses in Yiddish, and Yiddish theater continues to this day.
Marvin Caplan has actively worked to continue Yiddish as a cultural force in Jewish life. He gives lectures, writes articles, and translates Yiddish poems into English. Caplan is also a well known civil rights activist. He is also the author of “Farther Along - A Civil Rights Memoir” to be published shortly by the Louisiana State University Pre^te.
