It has been a busy year for Boy Scout Troop 200. In late May, Troop 200 hosted the District Spring Camporee. A special thanks goes out to Mr. Wilson who loaned the use of his farm in Marshall.
Also in May, adult volunteer, John Chadwick, held a running of the Emergency Preparedness merit badge. The event culminated with the scouts pretending that the phone lines were down. The scouts were mobilized to serve as runners to alert various people and businesses. The Horse-N-Hound, Flint Hill Grocery, Settle’s Store, Flint Hill Post Office and the Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office assisted in this project.
In June, Troop 200 held a bowling tournament. The winning scouts were Chris Graves, Zach Corbin and Jeremy Graves. Graves posted the highest score overall.
July was time for the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department parade and carnival. Troop 200 won Best Youth Group in the parade. Troop 200 also supported the Flint Hill VFD by working the Hoopla Booth and providing trash detail after each night of the carnival. The last week of July, Troop 200 attended Boy Scout Summer Camp.
