to the late Dillard and Helen Petty in Culpeper.

She was a long term member of the AARP, Alma Bragg Circle, and attended the/ Culpeper United Methodist' Church for many years.

Mrs. Compton is survived, by her husband of 49 years, Milton Davis Compton; two daughters Susan Compton of Culpeper and Elizabeth Burke and her husband John of Brandy Station; three grandchildren, Charles, Joshua and Amanda Burke, all of Brandy, Station, as well as relatives in the Rappahannock area.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Donnelly officiating.

Found & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
