Three charged
in domestic
disputes

Rappahannock County sheriff's deputies responded to three separate reports of domestic violence over the weekend, all resulting in arrests.
According to Sheriff Connie Smith, this “just happened to be a freak weekend" for these types of crimes in the area.
“I haven’t seen a great increase in the number of domestics we get, and I wouldn’t say we get , any more than most areas,” she said, quieting cause for alarm.
The first incident occurred on Friday, July 19 on South Poes Road in Amissville. She said Deputy Daniel Stevens responded to a call by a female claiming she had been choked after an argument with her husband.
Deputy Stevens arrested Ivan Gene Meith on the scene and charged the 75 year-old with assault and battery on a family member.
Also occurring on June 19, Sgt. Mark Currence responded to 12454 Let* Highway in Washington after a caller stated that her daughter put a knife through a door in the house the two share.
According to Sheriff Smith, the daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Thompson, 23, was allegedly upset because her mother had a visitor in the house. Thompson was charged with assault on a family member and an emergency protective order was issued against her.
On Saturday, June 20, Deputy Stevens responded to another report of a domestic disturbance t»t 14 Old Kennels Private Lane in Flint Hill. A female stated that a phone was ripped out of her hand during a verbid argument.
Alexander William Kuncewicz, 43, of Front Royal was arrested and charged with assault on a family member in that incident.
