To compliment the vibrant sounds produced by visiting musicians at the upcoming Castleton Festival, organizers have decided to infuse some regional flair into the event.
Highlighting the tradition of art in Rappahannock County, the work of several local artists will be on display on the grounds of the Castleton Farm estate.
“There is a real parallel between music and art,” said Dietlinde Maazel, co-host of the festival. “I believe we should pull all the wonderful forces together that are happening in this amazing county. There is a lot of talent here.”
Coordinated by Andew Haley, owner of the Long View Gallery in Sperryville, the focus of the exhibit is to showcase regional art. Nine Rappahannock artists will be on display throughout the festival which runs from July 3-19.
“The Maazels are pulling the top young talent from around the world, and they asked me to present the best regional work in conjunction with the festival,” said Haley.
