Emerald Isle is located at the southern end of the Outer Banks. Rev. Bailey said that “their greatest joy is sitting under an umbrella on the beach and reading a good book and relishing the breeze and the rhythmic sounds of the ocean waves.” Another pleasure Rev. Bailey has in going there is seeing one of his seminary classmates, Rev. Curt Finch, who operates with his wife a very delightful and successful bookstore. He also organized the Emerald Isle Baptist Church where Rev. Bailey worships while there.
Rev. Bailey concluded his vacation by spending time with his youngest sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Robert Hedrick, in Richmond and visiting his last surviving aunt, Mrs. Jean Carroll, who is 91 years old and witty as ever, he said.

Bible School

Congratulations go out to Charles Crawford and Doug Exline for passing their EVOC-Emergency Vehicle Operator Course for driving an ambulance. Both are with the Washington Volunteer Fire Department.
Voices in tune
The Rappahannock Community Choir meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Rappahannock County Library in Washington from 7-8:30 p.m. All are welcome. For questions call Bemi at 540-675-1900.
