Items for review at the Town Council meeting of June 13 were overshadowed by council’s eagerness to honor one it its own, Dorothy Hawkins. Mrs. Hawkins, who has served on the Town Council since 1950, will relinquish her long-held position when a new council takes over July 1. Hawkins, who served on the council for 34 years, was given a gift platter.
Mrs. Lillian Crews of Washington, who owns Ice House Fabrics on Main Street in Washington, has lived in Rappahannock County since 1977. Her fabric store opened May 9 in a new location next to the Rappahannock News office. The store is full of “fabrics-n-things" such as patterns,
