requested increased speed enforcement. Traffic from Culpeper coming north on 522 needs to slow first to 35 and then to 25 in the village. The free flowing right turn at the Estes house (at the concrete barrier ( prevents traffic from backing up and facilitates ingress and egress from nearby homes and from the Thornton River Grille/Corner Store driveway. However, approach of the intersection needs to be 25 miles per hour or under, and through traffic must all abide by the speed limit. Traffic from the north end of Main Street (from the bridge/Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad building) must not exceed 25 miles per hour.

Sheriff Connie Compton Smith has promised increased surveillance in the area and speeders will be fined. Respecting the speed limit is really respecting the many families who live in our village and we all want that to happen.
