be the culmination of a sealed bid auction of a painting, specially created for RappCats by Steven Kenny, It is an oil painting of a cat entitled “Little Angel.”
Kenny’s work has received international acclaim and it is represented in some of the most important galleries in Hollywood. Santa Fe, Atlanta, Denmark, Germany and France. Locally, he is represented by Cory Caulfield at the Caulfield Gallery in Little Washington.
Kenny’s RappCats auction painting is on display at the Rappahannock National Bank's lobby, where sealed bids can be placed. You can also bid by email at RappCats@ RappCats.Org.
Bidding will continue live through the evening of July 31 at the Catstravaganza event. The opening bid will be the highest sealed amount prior to the event.
Unlike other auctions, bids will not be announced or disclosed — except at the end at the awarding of the painting at Catstravaganza. Bidders are encouraged to offer the highest amount they wish to spend as they will not know what other persons may have offered
Last year's event at Middleton Inn had a sellout crowd and many said it was the best party they attended all year. Even better, at $50 per ticket, it is a champagne event at a beer price.
