The varietal tests there will be the first conducted in that area of Virginia, and are expected to lead to better crop varieties for Northern Neck farmers. Later, the tests will expand to include fertilization, weed control* and pasture work. Crops to be grown there this season include corn, spring oats, red clover, soybeans, tomatoes and sweet potatoes.
The truck gardening work will be un^er the supervision of Dr. F. S. Andrews, associate horticulturist at VPI.

Scheduled In State
Dates for the summer series of ram sales sponsored by the Southwest and Valley Northern Purebred Sheep Breeders Associations have been' announced by George Litton, associate animal husbandman at VPI, and secretary of the associations.
The sales will be held: July 1 at Blackford; July 6 at Abingdon; July 12 at Orange; July 18 at Wytheville; July 20 at Christiansburg; July 24 at Winchester; August 9 at Staunton; August 26 at Harrisonburg; and September 7 at Monterey.
