Americans have never resented the man with the slide rule, the expert who predicts things to come with the aid of a chart and a graph and the children of average men sliced qui-tly into fractions. We know that when we have a mind to we car. upset what the expert predicts. We have done it before. And in the case of cancer we know we must do it again. We must upset these heartchilling statistical predictions.
“If present rates continue, 22 million Americans now living will die of cancer. It will strike in one of every two homes. Half of the victims will be e. rable. But only one-fouith are now seeking medical treatment soon enough to avoid unnecessary deaths.’’
