Today is Jefferson’s birthday, and anyone who wishes may join the editor of Rappahannock News in unabashed admission of membership in any Jefferson fan club you care to organize.
A history professor once made the statement: “Jefferson was the "First President of the U.S.” and with a beaming countenance, 1 agreed.
At a time when this story was told in the News office, a young visitor was horrified at ignorance! The birthday of our first President is February 22 and everybody oughta’ know that! (Our young visitor declares residence in Mrs. Price’s room at Washington school. Evidently, the insinuation is that Mrs. Price would teach us accurate information on the “first president.’’)
