The election of officers for the school year 1950-51 was the primary purpose of the first meeting of the Rappahannock Future Farmers of America organization. Those elected to office were as follows: president, Irvin Corbin; vice president, Marion Scott; secretary, Leland Walter; treasurer, William Armentrout; . reporter, William Burke; sentinel Harvey Smoot; advisor, Mr. R. C. Beck.
Other items of business discussed were planning of a program for the Northern Triangle Federation F.F.A. meeting to be held in Rappahannock County High School, October 10, 1950. Representatives from Luray, James' Wood, Clarke, Front Royal, and Rappahannock high schools plan to attend this meeting.
A judging team, consisting of Irvin Corbin, George Lawrence and Harvey Smoot will represent the Rappahannock F.F.A. chapter at the Frederick County Fair. They will judge classes of poultry, eggs, apples, corn and potatoes.
The royal governor of Massachusetts appointed the first Been* sor of the press in 1662.
