On Proposed Home

William Speck, of the League of Virginia counties, appeared before the board of supervisors Wednesday morning and stated that the Federal government was considering donating the land and a block of buildings at the Remount for a convalescent home. This home is to serve the counties of Clarke, Frederick, Rockingham,* through Madison, Rappahannock, and others.

The total cost of remodeling* is estimated at $42,000, $1500 of this amount to be Rappahannock’s share. The cost to Rappahannock county afterwards would be made on a basis of patients in the home.

The total number of beds for dependent aged patients would be 125, with Rappahannock’s quota set at 4 A pool of 14 beds is not assigned to any or.e county.

This project had been discussed by the county board of supervisors at a previous meeting.
