The Flint Hill 4-H cljiV^pitfe# it# October meeting with Dwrojhy'k Jane William# reading Psalm® XXXIII. Shelby eJan Pullen led in some songs. We talked about\ earning money for the club and decided on selling candy in tie * lunch room. Miss Sollenberger talked to the girls about their 4-H club projects for the year.
We welcomed a new member, Hazel Wines. This makeas the club’# total 31 members. In bringing the meeting to a close, Polly Nether# led ua in some games. The meeting lasted exactly one hour.
Birthday Party
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Purke entertained Sunday in honor of their oldest son Cletus Burke, having as teir guests Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Burke and cildren Linda, and Andrew of Front Royal; Mr. and M.s. William Hershiey and children Rit- ' ehie and Garry of Bristol, Penn.;Mr. and Mrs. John Metzger andv. ion John, of Lorton; Ashton Burke gnd Miss Jennice Burke of Springfield; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Vaughan of Stafford; Mr. and Mr#. Charles Welsh and children Charles Jr., and Della; Miss Corrine Vaughn of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Della Partlow. This gathering consisted of four generations.
GARDEN CLUB MEETS IN SPERRYVILLE
The Rappahannock Garden club met Wednesday afternoon, Seplember ZT. at the *ihoffie vf Mfs^ W. H. Lyne, in Sperryville, with Mr#. Z. H. Sealock as joint hdstess.
There were no exhibits, due to the recent flower show. A round table discussion on different | phases of growing flowers was the main feature of the program. There were about 25 members present.
The next meeting of the Garden club will be held October 13. This meeting i# to be a nature tour on Skyline Drive. Members of the club will meet at the Coffee Shop in Sperryville at 1 o’clock, and from there they will motor to Panorama, to be met there by a guide at 2 o’clock. They will tour the Drive as far south as Big Mea- - dows. Refreshments will be served at Pinnacle Rock. *,
