Walter Reed Hospital
Mr. and Mrs. James M. Settle and Mrs. John J. Miller were visitors Sunday of Lt^ Ji. J. Petersen* who is a patient at Walter Reed General Hospital. Lt. Petersen arrived at Walter Reed Friday from the West Coast, he was wounded ' the West Coast after receiving: a leg: injury in Korea. His condition is reported satisfactory., Lt. Petersen is the son-in4aw of Mr. and Mrs. Settle.
MRS. THOMPSON GIVES OWN “SURPRISE” SHOWER
Mrs. A. Paul Thompson was ■yery- surprised Tuesday evening: when the shower sbe had gotten up for Mrs. William Buntin turned tables on her. The "Courthouse Gang” decided Mrs. Thompson should have a shower, so while she was busy getting up a shower for Mrs. Buntin, they lot her work forself—unknowingly. At the time of the party, Mrs. Thompson was asked to help Mrs. Buntin with the packages, and when she went over to the table, she found her own name—“Ann”— inscribed thereon. She was so busy opening her own packages, she had little time left to help Mrs. Buntin. The shower was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Buntin on Main street in Washjngton.

Called To Active Duty
T. Jack Dennis, U.S.M.C.R., of Alexandria has been called back to active duty. Mr. Dennis saw active duty in the Pacific during World War II.
He is a son of Mr. and Mrs W. B. Dennis of Castleton.
