Flint Hill Garden Club
The Flint Hill Garden club met March 14, with Mrs. B. J. Wood &s hostess. Eight members were present and one visitor, Mrs. Peyton of New Market, a guest of Mrs. E. R. Browning.
Perennial seeds, ordered for each member of the club, were distributed at the meeting, following the program on perennials conducted by Mrs. John S. Browning.
Mrs. J. M. Settle was awarded high score of 98 on an arrangement of forced japonica, bridal wreath, and apple blossoms. Mrs. J. P. Cook placed second, with a 96 score, on an arrangement of forsythia.
At the conclusion of the meeting the year books were distributed.

A number of laymen from the Baptist churches of Rappahannock and adjoining counties will be heard on a series of radio programs to be broadcast over WCVA; in Culpeper each morning, Mont day trough Friday, from 7:15 to 7:30 a.m., for two weeks, beginJ ning March 26 and ending April 6.

Mrs. Hitt Wins Place In Amateur $how-o: *m'*
Mrs. Floyd Hitt (Lucy Mae. Smith) of Amisaville placed third ; in the Style Center Talent Show in Culpeper Friday evening, March 16. First place went to 7-year-old Tommy Beales,, about as thick as he’s high, who sang of "looking: poor and puny," and second honors wont to Phoebe Brown, 11-; year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs.. John Moffett Brown of Estes, who sang, in pursat hill-billy style, "My Pappy’s Whiskers."
