School Question*
Pros and Cons
A serious effort has been mad* to collect the reasons given both for and against the building of a, new high school in Rappahannock. In many interviews the reasons "were stated in different manners, but following is a condensed summary. of the main reasons stated most frequently.
THE PROS—
Those in favor of the building of the new school givh* the following reasons:
There is insufficient room in the present building to house comfortably and adequately the present enrollment of approximately 236 in the high school, and the knowledge that next year's estimate stands at 260-260 (a conservative estimate) means conditions will be much worse. The statement is made that, .where last year and in years previously the number of pupils in the build—ing was very few less than now, this year the pupils are more of high school age and sise and more space per -pupil ia required.
