Final Day for ’50 Licenses
Purchase of 1051 auto and truck licenses ends Saturday, April J4, and Gibson Wharton, at Hampton Inn and Service Station, ■west of Washington on Route 211, asks that those who have net obtained their new license plates, please do so immediately. There’ll be a mad rush Saturday, of those who always wait until the last minute, so come early and save having to wait in line. No licenses will be sold on Sunday.
Amissville Baptist Church
In Memorial Fund Drive
At the monthly business meeting held Tuesday night, April 10, the congregation of the Amissville Baptist church voted to enter into an effort to raise |2,40Q for an electric organ fund. The drive is to be known as the "Charlie Latham” Memorial Organ Fund. The following committee is at work contacting all members of the church and other interested friends; Jackson K. Yowell, Everett Stover, Annie Laurie Byiwaters, Mrs. Marion Rowzie, and Mrs. Lucy Mae Hitt. Several contributions have already; been received and many have expressed a desire to aid in the establishing of this fine memorial. Charlie Latham will be remembered as a fine Christian young man who served his church and community well. The drive is expected to close on or before May 10.
