The ladies of the council have received many' letters since they have been in office. These epistles have ranged from flowery mash notes for the “peaches-and-cream” widow to the latest, a five-page declaration informing the ladies that they are now suffering from a forpi of obesity which renders! too snug the wearing of their unmentionables.

To Missionary Society

The Missionary Society of the F. T. Valley Baptist church met Saturday at the home of Mrs. S. R. Shackelford. Mrs. C. R. Hite rwas leader. Devotional was led by Mrs. S. R. Shackelford. Miss Mary Elizabeth Hite gave a reading from “Mr. Jones Meets the Master”. Other members taking part on the program were Mrs. J. G. Revereomb, and Mrs. M a g g i & Kilby. Refreshments were serv'ed at the close of the meeting by the hostess. %
